From the inside out
I got sick of watching women in business flail around looking for solutions, getting shafted by poor quality business coaching, or sucked into programmes which promise the earth but deliver next to nothing.
More women than ever are setting up in business - searching for freedom and financial independence - but the stats around business failure make gloomy reading.
To succeed, women in business need strong mentoring and access to trusted tools and resources. We need to collaborate and build connections.
Crucially and as a priority. You need to remember that success is first and foremost an inside job. 80% of your success as a business owner is based on whether you believe you can do it and if you're able to lead powerfully from within.
I've created The Greenhouse to bring together strong, ambitious women who share similar values and an aspiration to build sustainable businesses which do good. So you can grow in knowledge, confidence and courage. In the safety of The Greenhouse, we talk openly about the good bad and the ugly of entrepreneurship and support one another to get past the obstacles.

Inside The Greenhouse, we explore and play with my 12C framework. It's the 12 core values and attributes which will grow you as a powerful female leader.
I give you my take, and I invite you to apply it to you and your unique business. It's not exhaustive - of course - but it's a strong foundation to get you thinking bigger, doing radical self-enquiry, and practical tools for impact and gravitas.
My 12C framework is built on the premise that we need to move away from the alpha-approach to business which encourages competition, conflict and climbing a ladder through sheer hard work and hustle. Most of us women have tried that, and it doesn't work. It results in isolation, frustration, burn-out and stress.
To succeed as a female leader, you need to bravely embrace a more compassionate, collaborative and courageous style. Where you bring all of you to the table. Learning to lead through telling the truth, having difficult and deep conversations, being committed to your own version of success and respecting others for theirs.
Trusting yourself to find the right answers and the right way forward. What got us here, won't get us there. We are the generation of women who need to lead the way. Our way.

THE BUSINESS OF YOU
Who knew that setting up in business would be such a huge personal growth journey?
I know I didn't!
It exposed me unexpectedly to a whole new world of doubt, fear and not-enough-ness. I spent my early years in business trying to pretend I had it all together, keeping the plates in the air, learning a million new skills on the fly.
I'd been on so many leadership courses during my time at corporate, and been pushed into the boardroom to work it out for myself en route. But they'd all been focussed on the "do more, work more hours, muscle your way to the front, lean in" variety.
Exhausting.
So once in business, I set my own rules. I taught myself and sought out a new style of leadership. One which brought my feminine traits to the fore. Where I wasn't afraid to show my vulnerability, to ask for help, to admit to mistakes, to model self-care and say "no" to anything which took me away from my values.
Was it easy? No, of course not.
Is it worth it? Without a doubt.
Do you want to lead with compassion at your core, too?
- If your days are blurring by in a whirl of sales, delivery, endless admin, tech issues, cash flow challenges...it's time to slow down. Calm is a superpower.
- If you're awake at night worrying about all the new stuff you're *meant* to be doing and you keep consuming information with no time to implement it...it's time to let go. Consistency (and patience) are your friends.
- If you've no idea whether you're saying "yes" to the right things or struggling to say "no" when people make demands on you....it's time to step back. Clarity first, action second.
- If you can't hold onto the bigger picture, feel lost in the weeds, lack faith in yourself, keep asking others for permission...it's time to put your big girl pants on. Confidence is a learnt skill.
- If you're always working long hours, evenings or weekends to keep up....it's time to create new boundaries. Choice is the daily mantra for you.
- If you avoid having difficult conversations, or hide away because Fear has too much to say....it's time to come out and play. Courage for you, my friend.
- If you're lonely, isolating yourself because you don't know who to trust, maybe you've had your fingers burnt already...then come inside. Collaboration and community is exactly what your soul craves.
It's all normal, btw.
Business growth is a challenge for us all.
